According to Robert Sternberg there are three (3) components of love: (1) Intimacy or the feeling of attachment, closeness and connectedness. (2) Passion or the intense feeling you get when you like someone. It encompasses the drive connected to both limerence (romantic attraction) and sexual attraction. (3) Commitment or the decision to remain with one another (short term) and plans made in the future (long term).
